Holy Sh**!

Wed Apr 22, 2009, 6:04 AM
Wow. I just noticed that the five in "deviant for 5 years" changed into a six! Incredible!
Just for the fun of it, let me link you something I painted at that time, 6 years ago.

Note the perspective XD Amazing, isn't it?
But as I think about it. For 6 years it's not that much of improvement. But the main improvement happened in the last two years, so I think it's okay. When people ask me, when I started to draw/paint, I used to answer 'When I was 13' (that was 1999) but now I notice, I didn't really paint or draw. I only scribbled and didn't even really practice or something. I just thought that with talent, success would come naturally. But I was young and stupid.
So now when you ask me when I really started to draw/paint, I'd answer "two years ago".
Anyways...

Now the "1000 pageviews a year" calculation doesn't work anymore.
What a pity...
I think a major problem that caused the few pageviews was that I only began to unterstand how DA works when the layout was changed the last time. (also 2 years ago?)

Patience is a virtue...
Hey! Amazing work, even if you think you have so much to learn, you probably do, you know better, but compared to my own..uhlala. I got you DA from Concept art. Im one of those silent members, i just don't have the guts to open a sketchbook there yet. Also im waiting for the day i wont be embarased to show my scribbles to all those amazing artists.

I have to say, everytime i get sick of drawing poses i have a go through your stuff. Soooo...much practice, and i get started again. So yeah. Keep on drawing!

:D
Thank you very much. Thak actually makes me feel a little embarassed, I should practice even more ^^°

Don'T be afraid to open a sketchbook! Noone there bites. I know, I struggled about a year to open one, but when I did it it was not nearly as bad as I thought. :) And you got some nice stuff in your DA Gallery too, so why not showing it?

Don't be embarrased gosh. :p

I..saw that they don't bite, but it's just i dont think im good enough :|. I started sketching almost everyday now, but i am still having trouble with proportions and muscles. The only time i have the opportunity for live nude drawing is every friday, when a group of people from VisualArt (a forum here in romania) are having night drawing session. Aaaand that's about it. And the rest are my friends ats chool, in between classes. I hate drawing after pictures because i feel like im cheating. I will open up one eventually :|, and i will be counting on you for critiques. :D
HAha, I still suck at muscles and stuff as well, but nobody was born as a pro, haha! So I'll keep practicing and every time I learned everything from my bridgman and bammes, I have to start over again because I feel like I forgot it... but I guess that's how it works. At least it's what some poeple told me :/
I don't have the opportunity to visit life drawing sessions as well at the moment, although we got two at school. Busy with final project and exams. But one time a week is very well.
Just link me your SB and I'm writing some comments for sure :D

I have two books, one i use for shading and portrait sketching examples and its from John Raunes and the other from which i study anatomy and movement is from Jeno Barcsay (crazy shading..i mean...wow..O.o). Right now my biggest issues are the shoulder-neck connections and the knees.

Good luck on your final project and exams. My exams will start in about 2 weeks, and..yeah 3 more years of uni. I'll be sure to link you when i finally start a SB :D.
